Our Mission

Our mission is to help our clients achieve their own missions and visions by hiring, retaining and engaging more A Players.

Our Story

Originally founded in 2004 as HRM Direct, ClearCompany started as a pioneer in cloud-based talent management systems.

Co-founders Colin Kingsbury and Andre Lavoie first met while working together at CCBN, one of the world’s first enterprise SaaS companies. Andre became HRM’s principal investor when Colin asked for feedback on his original idea. Andre remained at CCBN as they were acquired by Thomson Financial and later Reuters, eventually serving a Global Managing Director to run a business with US revenue in excess of $1 billion.

Meanwhile, Colin was pursuing his vision of building the best talent management system for small and mid-market companies in North America, with Andre regularly sharing the challenges of managing a team spread over 90 countries.

By 2012, HRM Direct had industry-leading solutions for applicant tracking and onboarding and their core mid-market business was growing at an accelerating pace. As the promise of this new platform covering the complete talent lifecycle became clear, Andre joined the company as full-time CEO and co-founder.

In 2013, we re-launched HRM Direct as ClearCompany to represent our belief that transparency into the mission, vision and goals of a company creates talent success. Since then, we’ve built solutions for performance management, goal tracking and alignment. These ground-breaking product enhancements have helped us acquire over 2,000 clients, expand into office space across the country and consistently rank on the Inc. 5000.
